BAMM has been a pleasant surprise. I've found some rather obscure books from them that I wasn't finding at the really big places like Barnes and Noble or even Amazon. Or I'd find that BAMM's price was considerably lower on those items than their competitors.
Their $10 membership is definitely worth the price -- especially when you consider that B&B is $25.
BAMM is not always the lowest price, but they are always worth checking as you comparison shop.
I did contact Customer Service once about order. I found them friendly, informative, and accurate.

Prices are excellent and shipping has been fast on the three occasions I've purchased from them. One noticeably lacking feature is the ability to do an Advanced Book Search--wish they would add that.

Excellent prices on books and CDs, especially if one is not able to get to the actual store. I especially like their bargain books and the free shipping after spending a certain amount.

Like many, I'm purchased through Mr. Rebates at the big 2, Barnes and Noble and Borders through Amazon, but this is my first long visit to the 3rd largest in the country, Books-A-Million, and I'm surprised and pleased that they live up to their name. A nice bonus: For a small $10.00 annual fee, you can join the "Millionaires Club" and get additional discounts off your purchases. I've ordered my card and anticipate happy browsing and purchasing for a long time.

Bamm.com is fantastic!! They always have the books I'm looking for at great prices and a wide selection. Every time I buy from them, I buy in bulk, my order is always over $100 because I always find lots of great titles! Their travel section for book is also fantastic for the avid traveler.

For the most part, I am CRAZY about Books a Million! It has a great selection -- really unusual titles listed, though not always available (in other words, you order them, and then they're in fact out of print or not in stock at the distributor/publisher). Terrific variety of children's, non-fiction, toy-type books and sets; good range on adoption, China, Hello Kitty, organization and storage, gardening, literature, and other specific topics of interest to me and my family.
Books do sometimes arrived damaged, seeming to have come that way from BAMM (i.e., not damaged in shipping), and there are often no more -- in other words, it seems as if BAMM sent the last, damaged copy of a title, thinking perhaps I would accept and keep it without argument. If I write to ask for a replacement, the title is sometimes replaced, but most often my money is refunded because there are no more of that title, which tends to support my feeling as stated above. (When I say "damaged," I don't mean a remainder mark on the pp. edges; I mean large wrinkles, banged-up corners, or a piece missing from a book with a part that moves, like a wheel or flap on a children's book, for example.) I usually get good responses from Customer Service at BAMM when I write about these matters, but sometimes my e-mails are not responded to.
Pricing in general is fabulous: the low $10 annual loyalty-club fee gets at least 10% off everything, and that's often on top of BAMM's already discounted prices. (Daedalus Books often has better prices on individual titles, but its inventory is much less extensive.) Even little Dover Publications books, so great for children and students, at $1-1.50, are discounted! The free shipping on orders over $25 is wonderful too, though the parcels shipped by this method do take a while to arrive. In most cases, this doesn’t matter, but requires planning ahead for gifts, Christmas, and other deadlines.
I’ve asked BAMM to improve one aspect of its website, but so far nothing has been done: there is no wish list (automatically linked to inventory to keep availability and pricing current), so you can’t save titles of interest for later purchase or to send to friends. I usually want many more titles than I order at any one time, so it would be nice not to have to select and place in my cart the additional ones all over again when I order the next time. (You can’t save your cart for very long, either—if you could, that would sort of substitute for a wish list, though moving items in and out of it is a pain.) Also, there should be some kind of frequent-buyer reward plan, with maybe free books for purchases over a certain amount. A discount for teachers with ID would be nice, too.
I think BAMM should offer CD's and DVD's at great prices, too, especially children's videos and entire seasons of TV shows, Broadway show soundtracks, and other slightly unusual items.
Finally, I’ve enthusiastically recommended BAMM to (literally) hundreds of people, including classrooms full of students. Some kind of “Tell-a-Friend” reward program would be a great idea!

I've shopped around at various stores and have found that Books A Million not only has a wonderful selection but, also the best prices. I plan to purchase books from your store in the future. I also received my items in a timely manner. Thanks.

The books needed for school were easy to find on this web site. They had a great selection of books for my young reader also. The ordering process was easy and quick.
