When I know I"ll need a rental car, I check reliable companies, then rent from the one offering the lowest price at that time. Sometimes that's Thrifty, sometimes it's not. Renting a car is never really cheap, but my experience with Thrifty has been good. I've also gotten a very clean car without any problems. I'm not looking for anything fancy, and Thrifty has often delivered exactly what I needed. I also well remember how helpful a Thrifty rep was when I flew to where my father was critically ill. The rep listened through my stress and was helpful and kind. That's the stuff that gets repeat business.

I rented a mini van at a very good price compared to other companies. The car was at the airport waiting. Customer service was good and I was happy I saved a lot on this rental.

I ordered a car for my boss but was given credit on a much lesser charge ($196 vs. almost $400 charged to his card).

The cost of the Thrifty Rental Car was far below those of the competition and for the same types of vehicles. But allow enough time if returning very early in the morning as they tend to be a bit understaffed and you don't want to miss your plane. Also, be sure to look the vehicles over good as they turn them so quickly, they are not always as clean as they could be -- but the price savings more than accommodates for their shortcomings.
